Metal bed frames available through Songmics UK GB span several distinct builds, from ottoman storage and LED-lit drawer platforms to simpler upholstered headboard designs across the VASAGLE and SONGMICS lines. Shoppers comparing these frames often want to know how storage capacity, lighting, and headboard finishes differ from one model to the next. This comparison walks through the main options available through the retailer, from the Mazey Collection through to the floating platform design, looking at what separates each one.
VASAGLE Ottoman Bed Frames with Lift-Up Storage
The VASAGLE Ottoman Bed Frame uses a hydraulic lift to raise the mattress platform, revealing storage space beneath it, though not every frame in the wider range includes this mechanism or any drawers at all. This ottoman design appears in the Mazey Collection, including a single-size model built for a 90 x 190 cm mattress. A double version of the same ottoman concept is also listed, giving a larger footprint for the same lift-up storage approach. Both versions carry the Mazey Collection’s Transitional style designation, which sets their visual finish apart from the brand’s other metal bed frame lines.
VASAGLE Bed Frames with LED Lights and Storage Drawers
A separate line in the Mazey Collection combines LED lighting with four underbed storage drawers rather than a single lift-up compartment. The single bed version measures 195.6 x 100 x 87.9-94.3 cm and comes in Slate Grey, while the small double version measures 195.6 x 130 x 87.9-94.3 cm in the same finish. Both include an upholstered headboard with built-in USB ports, pairing drawer storage with a charging point near the pillow. Metal slats support the mattress in each case, a detail worth noting for anyone comparing slat materials across these bed frames from Songmics UK GB.
VASAGLE Standard Metal Bed Frames with Upholstered Headboards
Beyond the drawer and ottoman options, the Mazey Collection also carries a simpler structure. A single bed frame pairs an adjustable upholstered headboard with a metal frame and wooden slats, finished in Cappuccino and sized for a 90 x 190 cm mattress, and the same adjustable headboard design extends to a small double version sized for a 120 x 190 cm mattress. Neither of these two models carries drawers or a lift mechanism, keeping the construction closer to a traditional slatted frame. That makes this pair the most stripped-back entries among the metal bed frames covered here.
Floating Bed Frame Designs from VASAGLE
The VASAGLE Floating Bed Frame is a double-size platform measuring 135 x 190 cm. This design pairs LED lighting with a charging station, echoing the lighting theme seen in the drawer-equipped models, but it sits without visible legs beneath the frame. The floating silhouette sets it apart visually from the ottoman and drawer lines, even though it shares some of the same functional additions. Alongside it, the collection also lists the Modern Metal Bed Frame with Headboard and Sturdy Support, a single bed frame built with slats and a headboard set on a metal platform base, positioned as one of the more compact options in the lineup from Songmics UK GB.
Storage and Support Features Across Songmics Metal Bed Lines
Looking across the collection, frames from Songmics UK GB fall into a few recognisable storage approaches. Some rely on a hydraulic ottoman lift, others use drawers built into the base, and some skip underbed storage altogether in favour of a slatted frame. Headboard styles vary too, ranging from fixed upholstered panels to adjustable ones, with some including USB ports and others left plain. The list below summarises the main distinguishing features found across these ranges.
- Ottoman-style VASAGLE frames use a hydraulic lift to access storage space under the entire mattress platform.
- Drawer-based VASAGLE frames from the Mazey Collection include four underbed drawers alongside an upholstered headboard with USB ports.
- Standard VASAGLE frames with adjustable upholstered headboards rely on wooden slats rather than built-in storage.
- The VASAGLE Floating Bed Frame combines a platform design with LED lighting and a charging station rather than a traditional leg structure.
- Metal slats appear in the LED and drawer models, while wooden slats support the adjustable headboard frames.
Assembly and Durability in Songmics Bed Frame Collections
Several listings describe the ottoman, drawer, and standard headboard metal bed frames as offering easy assembly, including the hydraulic ottoman model despite its added lift hardware. Beyond the frames themselves, Songmics UK GB sells matching mattresses, including a pocket sprung option with cooling gel memory foam and a hybrid mattress built with pocket springs and gel memory foam. Pairing a mattress from the same catalogue with one of these metal bed frames keeps sizing consistent across the single, small double, and double options listed. For anyone assembling a full bedroom setup, that shared sizing across frame and mattress lines from Songmics UK GB offers a practical reference point.
Across ottoman, drawer, headboard, and floating designs, the lineup gives a clear picture of how storage and lighting choices shape each frame.
